Polar STEM Days: Climate Change Up Close

Bring the frozen frontiers of our planet into your classroom. Our Polar STEM Days use the drama of the Arctic and Antarctic to make climate change real, urgent and understandable — turning your pupils into the environmental stewards of tomorrow.


Designed and delivered by educators with first-hand polar expedition experience, every activity connects real science to the places where climate change is happening fastest.

From Penguins to Polar Bears - what are the differences between the North and South Pole? Students learn about the different polar regions and get quizzed on what they have learnt through games.

The goal of the session is all about TEAMWORK! Students using what they have learned throughout the day must plan their own adventure, see what kit and equipment they need, plan their route, create and design a Team name and logo, and then present it to their class!

Students see and learn about a wide range of survival gear, find out about how polar adventurers layer up and what they eat.

They get to try bits and pieces to make for a great photo shoot!

The northern lights have long to thought magic traveling through the sky! In this activity, students find out how the northern lights are made, and then create an artistic representation of their own lights.
